Choose a Trait That Fits the Unit
Keep Golden on farm units, consider Unique for a powerful carry that already needs very few placements, and favor useful range or speed traits on supports that need multiple copies. Spend reroll materials on units you expect to keep using, with a stopping point based on their role.
What to Keep for Each Role
| Option | Details |
|---|---|
| Farm units such as C.E.O. and Bulby | Keep Golden for its farm-income benefit. If income is why you brought the unit, prioritize that benefit over chasing a trait mainly for damage. |
| A carry you normally field alone | Consider Unique when concentrating damage suits your setup. It restricts the unit to one placement, so weigh the stronger copy against any placements you would lose. |
| Multi-placement buffers and control units | Keep Sniper, Range or Godspeed when coverage or attack timing serves the unit's job. Divine and Celestial provide broader upgrades without Unique's placement restriction. |
Before rerolling, decide what you want the unit to do better: earn income, carry damage or support the team. A trait that helps that job is a sensible stopping point even if it is not your dream result. If you are still experimenting with the unit, save the expensive chase until you know it belongs in your regular lineup.
Check the Material Cost Before Spending
| Option | Details |
|---|---|
| Rare, Epic or Legendary unit | One Star Remnant per trait reroll. |
| Mythic or Secret unit | Five Star Remnants per trait reroll. |
| Trait Reroll Token | One token pays for a reroll on any rarity. |
Check the cost displayed for your selected unit in the live reroll panel before spending. Use the material comparison to budget for the unit you actually want to improve. Avoid spending on a temporary unit simply because you can afford its rerolls; keep your longer-term team in mind.
How to Reroll a Unit's Trait
- Talk to the Ethereal Guide near the Evolve area to open the trait reroll interface.

Choose Use on the unit you want to improve to load it for a trait reroll.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
- Select Star Remnants or a Trait Reroll Token in the interface, checking the displayed material cost before committing to the reroll.
- Compare the resulting trait with your unit's role to decide whether to keep it or spend more of your planned budget.
Trait Effects and Reroll Chances
These percentages are per-reroll probabilities, not guaranteed outcomes after a particular amount of spending. Compare the effect with the job you need the unit to perform. Rarity alone should not decide whether you keep a result.

Why Unique Can Cost You Useful Support
Snow Reaper, also called Rukia, illustrates why placement count matters: she allows three placements, and each copy can use Gale of the Moon separately. Unique's one-placement restriction means giving up those separate ability uses for a stronger individual unit. Divine is a suitable alternative for her damage, range and cooldown benefits while retaining multiple placements.
Zombie Risen is another support whose placed copies matter because her summon buff stacks across them. Divine is recommended for its broader benefits across her four placements. When that stacking support is central to your team, treat a useful trait as a reason to stop rather than automatically chasing Unique.
Set a Reroll Budget You Can Stick To
Start with the unit that would make the clearest difference to the team you actually play. Write down which traits you would happily keep before entering the menu, including practical results rather than only the rarest target. That makes it easier to stop on a useful improvement instead of spending the rest of your materials out of habit.
For a farm, judge your result by the income role you need; for a carry, consider the damage role and any placement trade-off. For a support, think about coverage, ability use and whether you rely on several copies working together. Once the result supports that plan, save the remaining materials for another unit unless you have a clear reason to continue.
